Kyla was born and raised in Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta, where she learned the importance of community, compassion, and supporting others through life’s joys and challenges.
Her life was forever changed in 2008 when she lost my daughter, Kaidence. In the years that followed, she found healing through photography, creating a business in her memory and helping families preserve life’s precious moments. Through that journey, Kyla discovered a passion for supporting others during both joyful and difficult times.
That passion eventually led Kyla to Oliver’s Funeral Home. Having experienced profound loss herself, she understood the importance of compassionate care and meaningful support. It is a privilege to walk alongside families during some of life’s most difficult moments, offering empathy, understanding, and reassurance when they need it most.
Kyla moved to Grande Prairie in 2014 and married her childhood sweetheart in 2018. Together, they have built a life centered on family, love, and gratitude. She is a proud mother of two boys and one girl, a loving stepmom to a son, and forever the mother of my angel baby, Kaidence.
When not at work, she enjoys photography, hiking, camping, gardening, and spending time with my family. Experiences have taught her that while grief changes us, it can also deepen our capacity for love, compassion, and connection. It is an honour to share that understanding with the families we serve every day.
