William Charles Gabler of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully at Prairie Lakes Seniors Community on December 16, 2025, at the age of 78.

Bill was born on May 22, 1947, and was raised in Grande Prairie. Back in his hockey years, you could find Bill behind the goalie net with his cowboy hat and mask, being a goal judge. He loved being out on the ice in his rubber boots and going for long walks. He was an Oilers hockey fan and a Yankees baseball fan.

He leaves to mourn his sisters, Darlene Gabler and Dorothy Gabler; brother Dave (Jennifer) Gabler; nephew Shane (Rochelle) Gabler; nieces Shawna (Jesse) Gawn and Jamie Podolchyk; along with great-nieces and great-nephews. Bill also leaves to mourn many friends from his chuckwagon days of helping some of the top chuckwagon drivers.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Verah Gabler, and brother Wayne Gabler.

He will be missed by many and forever loved.
