Obituary For Wayne Arthur Dievert
Wayne Arthur Dievert, resident of DeBolt, Alberta, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River, Alberta, at the age of 79.
Born in Port Alberni, BC, Wayne had a variety of careers throughout his life. He worked in the forest industry logging, as a commercial fisherman, and in the oil and gas sector. Over the years, he built many long-term friendships. Wayne continued to work running heavy equipment long into semi-retirement, especially when the crews were short-handed.
He was a passionate outdoorsman, with a love for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many trips into the backcountry of Alberta, BC, and the Northwest Territories. All these adventures created friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. He sure knew how to have fun! Wayne was a very proud member of the DeBolt community and could be found cruising around every road and trail, where he kept tabs on all the wildlife in the area. Wayne’s one-of-a-kind, unapologetic character and vocabulary were legendary amongst his friends and coworkers.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers, Norman (Lesley) Dievert, Allan Dievert, and Danny (Patty) Dievert; daughters Leah Brown (née Dievert), Nicole Dievert, and Danielle Dievert; grandchildren Nevin, Mara, Danica, Aubrey, and Shaylee; great-grandchildren Landen and Aria; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Frances Dievert; sister Carol (Gordon) Harsch; brother Leonard Dievert; and sister-in-law Debbie Dievert.
The celebration of Wayne’s life is by invitation only.
