Timothy William Jones

Obituary For Timothy William Jones

Tim was born on January 11, 1952, in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec. He was raised in that general area until he moved out west in 1972. Tim attended McDonald High School. He wanted to be a forest ranger, but ended up working in the oil patch where he excelled throughout his long career.

Tim had an adventurous and very mischievous spirit. He was magnificent at shocking people. He loved to plan family and friend events. For example, renting a bus for us all to go to BC to ski. He wanted everyone around him to feel his love. He was a great skier and loved riding his Norton. He also loved to cook and bake—his specialty was making spaghetti sauce and BBQing, even at 40 degrees below. He taught anyone who wanted to learn any of his skills. He researched endlessly for anyone needing his help, then helped them with the project. Tim watched over us all.

Tim will be sadly missed by his spouse Carolyn; children Dustin (Jody), Brent (Kelly), and Danny (Monique). Grandchildren: Paxton, Fenix, Burkley, Lincoln, Jensen, Lexi, Hailey, Gee, and Ziggy; siblings Gregory and Melanie; and cousins Mike (Sue) Rose, Tierney Rose, Pennelope (Stephen) Rose, and Judy Finlayson. The families of Paul Sevigny, the Watsons, Enos, Malekoffs, and Farleys. He held many people in high regard, but especially Louis Watson, Paul Sevigny, Laurie Stilling, Larry Malekoff, Graham Farey, Mark Salkeld, Reg Coderre, and Rob Davie (predeceased). He was a very loyal companion to all.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Sheelagh Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at People’s Church (11850 108 St, Grande Prairie, AB). Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favourite charity.

    Carolyn and family, I was SO saddened to hear about the passing of Tim. I have , being the eldest grandchild on the Jones' side of our family, known Tim my entire life ! He was someone who went the extra mile ! The afternoon that I flew to Vancouver in 1975 to begin a new chapter in my life, it was Tim who drove out on his Norton to say good bye and wish me well. Years later it was Tim who along with Carolyn flew to Palm Desert after my husband passed. Tim drove my car from PD to Vancouver, BC. Carolyn flew back to Canada with me (along with my cat and dog !) In his quiet manner he was always giving and generous, always adventurous, always positive and always with a smile. Tim was definitely one of the good guys ! He will never be forgotten.     The wonderful memories of Tim back in the Beta Well days always make me smile. We had so much fun. He and Bob loved Spanish Coffee Bob could sleep but the caffeine was Tim's enemy. I still have his hang glider. He went once, crashed a little, brought it to our place to store until he fixed it. 47 years it's been with me (us). So many good memories. A great man!! So sorry I won't make the service, as I have company from out of town. Know that I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow. Hugs
