Obituary For Timothy Andrew Blanchard

Timothy Andrew Blanchard passed away at home on Thursday, November 7, 2024, after a very courageous, short battle with Cancer. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Tim was born on May 20, 1958, in Saskatoon, SK. He spent the majority of his life in Grande Prairie, AB where he attended school. After working for a few years as a surveyor for EPEC he made the big decision to attend San Diego Golf Academy, receiving an Associate of Applied Business degree, majoring in general management and Golf Professional. Following graduation, he secured a job in Minneapolis as a golf course professional and continued his love for golf.

Tim spent his whole life working in the engineering world for 45-plus years in and around the Grande Prairie area, with EPEC/GPEC and their predecessor HELIX until only months ago. Often overseeing multimillion-dollar projects. Tim’s ability to deal with construction contractors was excellent and he was considered a senior construction manager. The construction/engineering profession has lost a talented member whose professionalism and wealth of knowledge will be missed.

When not working Tim spent his time playing hockey, hunting, and fishing. These were top on his list of “best days” spent.

His knack for humorous one-liners and dialogue kept everyone laughing. No one in his path left without a nickname unique to Tim. The role of “Uncle” came easy to him especially when around his nephews. They often had late-night “Dr. Phil” sessions in the hot tub.

His greatest joy was his daughter Jordana. His love for her was unwavering. He was so proud of her accomplishments and growth into the young woman she is now. In Tim’s last days, Jordana cared for him. They shared a special bond, one that will stay with them both forever.

The family would like to thank Tammy for stepping in and supporting Tim in his last weeks.

Tim leaves behind his daughter Jordana (Xavier), mother Allison; sisters Tracy and Andrea (Darren); nieces and nephews: Adam, Tanner, Kate, Gabby, and Jack; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father Joe Blanchard. God rest Tim’s soul.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/).

Condolences

My heartfelt condolences to his family. The Blanchards lived in Pipestone, Manitoba for a few short years and that is where I knew Tim. We were the same age, probably 20 or so at the time. He was a great friend and you knew there wasn't a mean bone in his body. He knew how to have fun and there was nothing wrong with that. He is gone too soon. Greg Henuset

Tim made me feel like I was one of the family. He was loving and kind and non-judgemental. He treated me like he was one of his own. I spent a lot of time with him and Jordana and he never made me feel anything less than his own daughter. His house was my safe place when I was young. May he rest in peace and may his family rest easy with the fact in knowing he was one of the kindest men I have ever met. My condolences to his whole family, especially Jordana who I know he loved deeply.

Tim was my roommate in San Diego while we both attended the San Diego Golf Academy and let me say there was never a dull moment. From his chicken dance after a shot of tequila to his hilarious 1 liners we had plenty of laughs to last a life time. My condolences to the entire Blanchard family. Brian Schaal.
