My greetings and sympathies to all the Macklin family, especially Dorothy, Tim and all Tom's direct descendants. As the last living sibling in his family, his passing reminds us of a bygone era, one of pioneers and homesteaders. May we, all the descendants of the Peace Country Macklin clan, uphold the most noble of that era's values in today's world. I had planned to attend Thursday's funeral service but the current volatile conditions related the the wildfires has unfortunately made travel from Edmonton very perilous. My deepest condolences to Dorothy, Tim, and families. Tom was a pillar in the Elmworth community for years, and a true meaning of a good neighbor and friend. Time may change the face of things out there, but never erase the memories we will cherish of Tom and his genuine good hearted-ness The community indeed has lost the last of the good ones.
