Steven Bruce Willis passed away on August 13th, 2026, in Parkland County, Alberta, while riding his much-loved motorcycle to work.

He was 69 years of age. He was born to his parents Melvin and Gerry Willis in Mayerthorpe, Alberta. He was predeceased by his father Mel Willis and is survived by his son Sherman Willis of Edmonton and partner Valerie Lloyd of Edmonton. He is also survived by his mother Gerry Willis of Valleyview, his brother Dave (Karen) of Whitecourt, sister Laura Rumohr of Red Deer, brother Don (Renee) of Valleyview, brother Mike (Richa) of the Philippines, brother Doug (Thanyapat) of Thailand, and his sister Barb Greenan (Bill) of Calgary, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was an ambitious man, having earned tickets in several fields: electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC, and was on his way to getting a ticket in gas fitting. He had an appetite for knowledge.

As well, Steve loved adventure, travelling to many different countries throughout the world while riding a motorcycle all throughout the USA, Central America, South America, Jamaica, Cuba, and most recently, this last winter, through a good portion of Vietnam. He also travelled to Spain, Romania, Croatia, and Sicily, Italy. His love of adventure found him horseback riding with his good friend Greg Shultz, hiking with his sister, brother, and friend Bill Priest, and sledding in the mountains with his longtime friend Jerry Balcom.

Steve was raised in Valleyview and then settled in Grovedale, Alberta, where he had a cattle farm while also working at Weyerhaeuser. The farm was eventually sold, and he left Weyerhaeuser. He had several jobs after that, his last job being at Capital Power, and he retired in December of 2024. When he retired, he said, “They are going to call me back,” which they did. He had just started back at Capital Power when he lost his life.

He was in the process of building his dream of a large shop for all his equipment and also a woodworking shop. Anyone who knew Steve knew him as an honest, hardworking, and dedicated man. He loved to joke around and had such an infectious laugh. Steve loved life.

A celebration of life will be held at the Valleyview Memorial Hall, located at 4810 – 50 St. in Valleyview, Alberta, on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at 2:00 PM, followed by refreshments and a light lunch.
