It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Sophia Ross on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.

Sophia was born August 23, 1917 to Alex and Ellen Waknuk in Smokey Lake, AB, and moved to the Spirit River area with her parents in 1926. Sophia met Dave Ross and they married on November 6, 1936. They raised two children, one son Allan and one daughter Maureen. She spent her life working beside her husband Dave in the Farm Equipment business.

She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Ellen, three brothers John, Bill and Nick, and her sister Dora.

Sophia will be sadly missed by her son Allan (Marilyn), her daughter Maureen, three grandchildren Warren (Goldie) Ross, Brad (Ev) Ross, Stacy (Matt) Packard, plus nine great-grandchildren: Bailey, Taitt and Dayle Ross, Spencer, Noah and Tessa Ross, Cate, Charlie and Maeve Packard; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Centennial Hall in Spirit River. Following the interment services you are invited to share in refreshments with the family.
