I had the opportunity to meet Shawn this winter at our church. I had a number of conversations with him and found him to be a very gentle and polite young man. I had an occasion to share a bit of my life with him which had some similarities to his life. I told him that Jesus loved him and cared about him. I send my condolences to his family and friends and know he will be missed by all. Until we meet again Shawn rest in peace! Steve.

I am saddened to find this kind soul has passed. I remember when I worked at Kfc, he would come in all the time and we would chat. He was so kind, and I consider him a friend. I had seen so much potential in him, and it's sad to see him go. I hope he knew how much I cared about him. Much love bud, you will be missed. -Kevin Green

I am so sad to hear about Shawn's passing. I got to meet him over the winter, he would often find his way onto the church's doorstep, we would invite him in, share Christ's love for him, pray, give him a cup of coffee and some food along with conversation. He was always so appreciative and gentle, never wanted to impose. I will miss seeing him. My sincere condolence. Johanne

I met Shawn after the death of my own son who was the same age. As we talked over a meal, I found out that he had known my son and they had loved to rap and write songs together. We kept in touch and hung out from time to time. He was a truly kind young man. Insightful and thoughtful. An old soul. I was so sad to hear of his passing...but I imagine him at peace now. Praying for the hearts of all that loved him ♥️

I loved hearing his stories, and always looked forward to our conversations. We were all very sad to hear of his passing. Shawn was a constant in our days for so long, and he will truly be missed.

A memory? we had a lot my friend! Still sad to hear you passed.. the best ones I have that come to mind is when you would come over to my moms when I live in the good ole phase 4! We would just chill out, try to become some rappers, I never fell through with but you did it so well! No wonder why you wanted to be one so bad... prayers to all who are hurting My thoughts and prayers to Elena & family! Rest In Peace purple haze 💜

When I worked at the Friendship Centre Shawn was always grateful for anything we would give him. Whether it was a hug, a smoke, some clothes or a meal he was super grateful. I told him I'll keep praying for you Shawn, he looked at me all surprised and said you pray for me? I said Yes my you are so young, I pray for your to find a better place, pray for you to have shelter, pray for you to be warm & ok. He gave me a big hug. Every time he walked in the door we greeted each other with a hug. I would tell him how happy I am to see him. I worried about all the clients, but Shawn I worried about him the most. Same age as my kids, I wish I could have helped him more. I will continue to pray for you Shawn and your entire family. You will be missed so much more than you will ever know. My deepest condolences to all your family. Love from Maureen L - former staff at GPFC
