It is with immense sorrow that the family of Shaune Masse, resident of the County of Grande Prairie, AB, announce his sudden passing on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the age of 54 years.

In his adult life, he acquired a farm and had his own horses. He taught his children the same love he had for farm life, quadding, sledding, fishing, and river boating.

He loved living on the farm outside of Drayton Valley, AB, caring for and riding his horses. Shaune showed horses in the Appaloosa show horse industry for many years.

In addition, Shaune became a welder and found a great passion for that. He worked all over central and northern Alberta, finally residing in Grande Prairie, AB. When he wasn’t working, Shaune could be found enjoying his love for the river, the outdoors, camping, fishing, or snowmobiling.

He will be lovingly remembered by his common-law wife Deanne Foster of Grande Prairie; son Colton Masse; daughters: Shelby (Kyle) Masse and Taylor Masse, and their mom Terry Stickle; parents Selvina Masse and Robert Masse; brothers: Randy (Diane) Joly and Darrell (Sandra) Masse; foster-sister Susan Nelson; half-siblings: Willie (Sue) Rutherford, Wayne (Bruna) Rutherford, Tamara (Aaron) Masse; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many wonderful friends. He will be sincerely missed and always loved.

Shaune was predeceased by his sister Leanne, cousin Jason, grandparents: Alice and Harold Judd, Beulah Masse and Edward Masse; as well as some aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 10:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).
