Obituary For Samuel "Bob" Robert Johnson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Samuel Robert “Bob” Johnson, a long-time resident of Fort McMurray, AB, and more recently of Beaverlodge, AB. Bob passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 78 years.

Bob was born on July 27, 1946, and raised in Edmonton, AB. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1965. His working years were spent in Fort McMurray. He worked for Suncor, maintenance, and CNRL Security, and in Kelowna, BC, doing painting and renovations. Bob loved the maple leaf, a great parade, lending a hand, and could easily talk your ear off.

Bob was a devoted husband of 56 years to Margaret (Knapcik); loving father of Sonny (Michelle) and Jacque-Lynne (Paul); and a proud grandfather of Callen and Aiden; and nieces and nephews Debbie, Allan, Michele, Denise, Darren, Darcy and special family friend Frances Letourneau.

He was predeceased by his parents Burriel and Anne, sisters Beryle, and Roseanne, uncle Harold/Emily, Albert/Edith.

Bob will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held in Beaverlodge, in the Spring of 2025.

    Sam was a true gentleman and a very professional employee. I valued his opinions and suggestions while I was his supervisor. He was always very kind, considerate and a Truly hard worker that understood the importance of his role. My condolences to you and the whole family. I will never forget Sam. RIP Mr. Sam .
