Obituary For Ross Haynes

With love and sorrow, the family of Ross Haynes announces his passing at 80 years of age in the Valleyview Hospital on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Ross was born on November 25, 1943, in Plamondon, AB and spent his childhood in the Westlock area. He travelled, working the oilfield, before moving to Fox Creek in 1971 with his wife Kory and young family. There he worked building and maintaining the KA gas plant.

Ross joins in heaven, his wife Kory Haynes (nee Stepaniuk) who has been an angel patiently waiting for him for 12 years, along with his father Floyd, mother Rae, daughter Annette, nephew Daren (who he raised like one of his own), as well as several other beloved nieces and nephews.

He will be forever missed by his companion Joy; children: Dena (Bill), Sharie (Terry), and Fane (Liz); grandchildren: Calvenn (Rose), Serah (Tyrell), Janelle (Gavin), Daymien (Alex), Kaelyn, Cayley, Chloe, and Avery; step-grandchildren Colton and Jared; great-grandchildren: McKenna, Azalea, Jaxx, Elliette, Theodore, and Oliver; as well as sister Diane and brother Allan.

Ross has countless family and friends that will be greatly impacted by his passing. His generosity, compassion and guidance were instrumental in the many lives that he touched throughout his journey. An avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, Ross was constantly bringing home people he met who would soon become an extension of his family and a cornerstone in his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the Fox Creek Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you bring a package of seeds because his kids now need to do their own gardening. In all seriousness, donations may be made in his name to the Red Willow Lodge (PO Box 1110, Valleyview, AB, T0H 3N0 attention Kathy Denny).
