Obituary For Rose Ellen Friesen

Rose Ellen Friesen, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Prince George, BC, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 73 years.

Rose was born on October 22, 1952, in Prince George. She was raised in the Grande Prairie area and graduated from Grande Prairie Composite High School. For the majority of her life, she worked in the hospitality sector and, for the last 20+ years, was employed at the Grande Prairie west-side KFC.

Rose loved her animals and took very good care of them. She also enjoyed her porcelain doll collection and adored anything shiny, like her jewelry. Rose was very set in her ways.

She will be sadly missed by her ex-husband, Andrew Friesen; daughter Andrea Rogerson; son Stephen Friesen; grandchild Cameron O’Brien; son-in-law Jim Rogerson; daughter-in-law Shay Garnett; sisters Brenda, Bernadette, Donna, and Anne; and brothers Lesley, Darwin, Martin, and John.

Rose was predeceased by her mother, Helen Gagnon; father John Stewart; foster father, Roy; foster mother, Margaret; brothers Jim and Robert; and sisters Yvonne and Marylin.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave), followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon in Oliver’s Tea Room.

    My condolences to all her family and friends. I was raised at a foster home with Rose. We always kept in touch. She was my sister. Sure going to miss her so much. 🥲🥲

    Rose and I knew each other since we're about 14 years old. She was a very sweet lady. We used to spend lots of weekends together just talking and laughing in her room she would be greatly missed by me.
