Obituary For Ronald "Ron" Martin Buelow
“Ron,” Ronald Martin Matthew Buelow passed away on December 27, 2025, after a short illness. He was born on November 10, 1953, in Lacombe, AB. Ron lived a life of hard work for his family, defined by loyalty, and had a sharp wit that was delivered with impeccable timing.
Ron’s early career, logging south of Grande Prairie for Proctor and Gamble, was one of his fondest memories. He spent many years as a dedicated welder, a trade he took great pride in. Self-employed for years, he took satisfaction in his company named after his daughters—CDJ Welding. Known for his humour, many children will remember being traumatized when Grandpa/Uncle Ron popped his dentures out and cackled at their reactions.
Ron is survived by his longtime partner, Julie Unrau, and his beloved daughters: Christine “Sam the Man with the Paper Ass” and Rickie (Rylee (Evyn), Theryn, Koehn, Tyllar, and Rowyn), Daelynn “Piss Pot Pete” and John (Pyper and Quinn), and Jesse “Jake the Snake” and Jon (Maxwell and Charlotte). He is also survived by his sister, Linda, and nephew, Ryan.
He was predeceased by his parents, Madeline (Maggie) and Lloyd, and his sister, Phyllis.
Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, stubbornness, and the love he had for his family. His presence, laughter, and unmistakable “grumpy old man” personality will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be hosted on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the ANAVETS (10203-106 Ave, Grande Prairie).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (www.stollerykids.com/donate/).

It has been many years since I saw him but I remember him popping his teeth out and startling us all! I also remember him taking us on our first snowmobile rides when we were young. He was always happy, smiling and joking around. Our thoughts are with all of the family.
