It is with deep sadness that the family of Ronald John Bast announces his passing. Ron, aged 74 years, passed away peacefully in Grande Prairie County on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Ron will be greatly missed and his memory cherished by his loving wife, Paulette; their daughter, Lisa (Rob) Forman, and son James (Amanda) Bast; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Dane Forman, Paige Forman, Evan Bast, and Ethan Bast. Ron is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Genevieve, Emelia (Ted), Helen, Bernard (Roberta), Ralph (Darlene), Pauline, and Carolyn (Tom), as well as many cherished relatives, extended family, and friends.

Ron will be remembered for his friendly nature, his strength, his endurance, and unique sense of humour, but what stood out most was the deep love he had for his family.

Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Herman and the exceptional staff of the Grande Prairie Renal Unit for their compassion, kindness, and outstanding care. Your support was truly remarkable, and we are profoundly grateful.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the 55 North Community Centre (10222-101 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB).
