Ronald James Ackeral, resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, formerly of Big Valley, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, at the age of 87 years.

Ron was born to John and Henrietta Ackeral in Big Valley, Alberta. He entered into a family with eight siblings (five sisters and three brothers). In addition to high school, Ron took many courses in the oil and gas trades. He enjoyed it so much, he even ended up teaching others about the trades. Ron worked all through the province of Alberta and into British Columbia.

Ron had a sense of humor; he enjoyed satire and joking around. Ron liked watching comedies on TV and listening to classical music. He loved hopping on his motorcycle to go touring in Alberta, British Columbia, and the United States of America.

Ronald will be sadly missed by his wife Zofia and family, and daughters Sue and Linda, along with their spouses. Grandchildren: Max, Heike, Jennifer, and Jazmin. Great-grandchildren: Ava, Huxley, and Kaeli.

At Ron’s request, there will be no memorial service.
