Obituary For Rodney Lee Hatch

Rod Hatch, resident of Teepee Creek, formerly of Cherry Grove, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at QEII Hospital, at the age of 66 years.

Rod was born on December 30, 1949 in Kelowna, BC. He was raised in Cherry Grove where Rod also raised his four boys: Tully, Daniel, Ward and Lance. He eventually found his home in Teepee Creek where he has lived for the last 22 years.

Rod was a helpful man, if someone needed something he had he would give it to them. He loved his grandchildren and loved having them around.

Rod had many things he enjoyed doing. He ran a cab for years and loved meeting new people. He loved anything with an engine and always loved to drive no matter what he was driving.

Rod will be sadly missed by his children: Daniel, Ward (Jenett), Lance (Sally) and Susie; grandchildren: Savannah, Destiny, Kaitlynn, Dominic, Blue Sky, Joel, Summer, Wynter Storm, Gwendalyn, Brandon, Jordon, Wyatt, Anika and Cameron; great-grandchildren: Blue Sky Jr., Robbie, Alaya and Aria; as well as all the other children that knew him as Grandpa Caveman, friends and family.

He was predeceased by his mother Velma, father Deloss, son Tully, and brother Clifford Dane.

A Memorial Service for Rod will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 2:00pm, at Army Navy Airforce Veterans (ANAVETS) in Grande Prairie (10117 93 St.). There will be a time during the service for anyone who would like to share a memory or poem. A potluck dinner will follow the service.

I remember Rod well, I spent 9 years in Grande Prairie and he was my buddy. I met Rod when we worked at Ed Pardell Gravel in 93 or 94 and became good friends. Rod was a good friend to everyone who knew him and he helped me out when i needed it, gave me advice and listened to me. Some say a person is not gone until his name is spoken for the last time or someone thinks about him for the last time. Well Rod, you were my good friend and I shall think about about you and in that way. you will still be around. Happy Trails my friend and God Bless. Lance and Ward may remember me, Gerard Quirk (newfie)
