Obituary For Robin Rocky Atkinson

Robin “Beanz” Atkinson a resident of Horse Lake First Nation passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 69 years.

Beanz was born on September 12, 1954 in Vermilion, AB. He lived in Horse Lake First Nations for 30 years in total and also lived in Edmonton and Conklin.

Beanz was a firefighter (wildfires) in the 80’s, periodically a construction labourer and a store clerk at Dee’s in Horse Lake First Nation for 12 years.

Beanz's favourite slang words were: “shaposh,” “plutti” and “what-what.” He was known on Facebook as Silver Wolf.

Beanz liked to watch movies, wrestling and the Edmonton Oilers hockey games.

Beanz will be sadly missed by his sons Robin and Jared Atkinson; daughter Stacey Atkinson; grandchildren: Felicia Horseman, Robin Horseman, Theo Horseman, Heaver-Lee Atkinson, Reece Atkinson, Layne Atkinson, Keaton Atkinson, Jasmine Atkinson, Sherice Atkinson and Emily Atkinson; great-grandchildren: Brysen Horseman, Elise Horseman and Elijah Atkinson; sister Frances (Johnny) Bueckert and their children: Donald Jr Ferguson, Elvis Ferguson, Ernie Ferguson and Angus Ferguson; brother Allan Atkinson and his children James Atkinson and Chantille Atkinson; brother Walter (Elaine) Petroski and their children: Walter Jr Petroski, Chantille Petroski-Horseman and Cheyenne Petroski-Horseman.

Beanz was predeceased by his mother Violet Petroski, brother Allan Atkinson, niece Donna Rae Sinclair, nephew Mark Petroski and stepfather Walter Sr. Petroski.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.) Grande Prairie, AB.
