Obituary For Robert Jay Major
Robert Major, 53, passed away peacefully in his home on November 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
He will be profoundly missed by his loving wife, Jen; his six children, Tyler, Kara, Nicole, Calli, Carter, and Mikayla; grandchildren Luca, Huxley, Malachi, and Rosie; parents Ron and Rose Major; sisters Tracy (Todd) Fogle and Lorrie Walker; and a vast circle of family and friends.
Robert was predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Major, and brother-in-law, James Walker.
His love for adventure, sports, and his spontaneous attitude will always be remembered. He was the “life of the party,” a beautiful, positive spirit whose warmth and charisma created community everywhere he went. He was known by many for his generosity and infectious love for God.
Robert successfully dedicated his work life to growing and cherishing one of the family restaurants, a legacy he proudly upheld from his parents.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, AB. Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at 2:30 p.m. at the Paradise Inn Hotel (11201 100 Ave). Following the luncheon, interment will be held at the Webster Cemetery in Webster, AB.

I first met Robby when he was about four years old. Ron invited me over after meeting in a lounge in Gp to meet his family. There was Rob meeting us at the door as he would at the family restaurant. So sorry for your loss Parents should never have to bury their children. Rest in peace Robert.

May I offer these lines of the poem MEMENTO by Mascha Kaléko to the Major family: Of my own death, I truly have no fear, only the death of those that I hold dear how shall I live when they're no longer there? In loving memory of my Canadian brother I am sending my love and comfort over the ocean - Claudia

Robert was the most lively, fun loving and generous uncle one could ask for. He will be sorely missed by myself and the whole family and his memory will be cherished and held dear as we painfully move forward without him present, awaiting the day we can reunite. There are no words of sympathy that can soothe this great loss for those closest to him. However I send my prayers, love and the deepest heartfelt hug across the seas from Japan. Wishing we could be there to celebrate his wondrous, love, grace and fun filled life. -Love Jennifer and the Kehila's

My heart is broken but cannot compare to The Majors', Rob was always so kind and treated me and my family like family. When Rob was around there was a sense of completeness, a oneness with the room as everyone's attention was centered on him and his big fun personality. When I think of the Majors' the first thought is "wow, what a legacy!" Rob always gave it his best and he was never afraid to fail, except when it came to family. Rob will forever be the big brother I never had, thanks for getting to know me and taking me in as family big guy, Til we meet again. RIP buddy. Thomas Cheesman

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. My condolences and prayers go out to his wife Jen, his children, his parents, his siblings, his grandchildren and all who knew him and loved him. He was a wonderful man and friend. His presence will be truly missed during my visits to Grand Prairie. From the first time I met him he made me feel like part of the family. Watching him play with Malachi and Rosalie always warmed my heart. The day before I left GP he came to see me and thanked me for being there for his daughter and our grandchildren and yes I cried. My prayers are especially with my daughter-in-law Kara, Roger, Malachi and Rosalie during their time of sorrow and grieving. Until we meet again ❤️ Merina

Sadly I am unable to attend the memorial and celebration of life for Rob. ROBB was truly one of the most positive and kind of people I've ever encountered in the business world... always optimistic and always a believer in people and God I am sad at his loss... And pray for his family. He will be missed... But he also serves as a great inspiration of how to live your life to make a difference.
