Obituary For Robert Eldon Dahl

Robert Eldon Dahl, passed away peacefully in Beaverlodge, AB, with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 66 years.

Robert was the second oldest of 7 children. He was born on January 10, 1955, in Beaverlodge. Robert spent many years working at the Alberta Wheat Pool. He was very dedicated to the farming community and would even sleep on the floor of the elevator during harvest so farmers could come through all hours of the night. He was a true community man and spent many years on the boards of the Lake Saskatoon Ag Society and community hall.

He volunteered countless hours to help the community in any way he could, whether it be fixing things, ploughing snow or being Santa. He loved constructing things, hunting, but most of all, spending time with his family who meant the world to him.

Robert will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years Lorna (nee LaValley) Dahl; daughters: Erin (Trevor) Branden, Lucy (Trevor) Isley, and Jayelle (Curtis) Peters; son Craig (Nicole) Dahl; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; father Bill Dahl; siblings: Larry (Verla) Dahl, Doug (Linda) Dahl, Lorraine (Alan) Walker, Rick (Karen) Dahl, and Dorothy (Ashley) Heggelund; brother in-law Joe (Lorraine) LaValley; mother in-law Ellen (Gavin) Craig; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Robert was predeceased by his mother Josie; infant sister Janice; sister in-law Susan Dahl; as well as father in-law Vernon (Fuzz) LaValley.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre, Cross Cancer Institute, Beaverlodge Regional Hospital, as well as Dr. Bolton and Dr. Van for their continuing care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Saskatoon Lake Community Hall on Saturday July 23rd, 2022 at 10am.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute (11560 University Ave, Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2), or to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (800 College Plaza 8215-112 St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8).
