Obituary For Robert "Bob" William Charles Enns

Robert “Bob” W. C. Enns, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the age of 71 years, after courageously living with cancer for several years.

Bob was born in Timmins, ON, on June 24, 1951, and grew up in Kapuskasing, ON. Bob's adventurous nature was forged in his Northern Ontario upbringing, and he made his home in many places throughout his life, including Prince Rupert, Peterborough, Kelowna, and Beaverlodge. Bob had many varied jobs over the years, including shipwright, elementary school teacher, computer technician, and truck driver.

Bob is survived by his children Stephanie (Nik) and Henry (Sarah); his grandchildren Holden and Olympia; his sister Elizabeth Brownlee. He will be remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Erma Enns.

Even as he grew weaker in his final years of life, Bob never stopped doing the things he loved, like camping, fishing, cooking, gardening, going to hockey games, and tinkering with vehicles and computers. Bob always loved animals and found great comfort in the companionship of his cats. He inspired us with his perseverance through a gauntlet of treatments and astonished us with his strength even in the last days of his life. Bob spent his final hours hearing words of love from his family and cherished childhood friends, and he died in peace with his son by his side.

Honour Bob's memory through small acts of kindness, appreciating the outdoors, or watching a hockey game with friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alberta SPCA (17904 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T5S 2W3), to Beaverlodge Hospital Foundation (Box 480, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0), or to Canadian Blood Services (https://www.blood.ca/en) in Bob's name.

Details on gatherings to celebrate Bob's life will be shared later.

Robert was in my kindergarten class. Over the years we may have hung out differently but always felt a positive and cordial connection . . . even these last years through the internet.
