Obituary For Raymond Dean Moskalyk
It is with deep sadness to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Raymond Dean Moskalyk on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the age of 35.
Ray was born on March 27, 1990, to Barry and Lynnette Moskalyk. He was the oldest of four boys and grew up in Sexsmith, Alberta. Ray was known from a young age for his fearless spirit, a quality his parents fondly remember, as he was always a daredevil and never afraid to try something new. That same adventurous nature stayed with him throughout his life. Not all of his adventures were the best decisions, but they made for some unforgettable memories and stories that are still told with a smile or laugh.
Growing up, Ray had a great love for sports, spending countless hours playing and competing alongside his teammates. The friendships he built through those years stayed with him into adulthood, becoming some of the most meaningful connections in his life.
Ray and Jenn found each other early in life and built a world full of love, laughter, and adventure. Ray adored Jenn. He was her biggest supporter and the one she could always count on through everything. Their greatest joy was the arrival of their daughter, Raelynn, who quickly became the center of Ray’s world. He was a proud and devoted father. The bond they shared was something truly special, full of love, laughter, and the same fearless spirit.
Ray treasured time with friends and family, especially when it was spent outdoors. Ray loved camping, going on side-by-side excursions, and being outside whenever he could. Whether he was mowing the lawn, working in the yard, relaxing in the pool, or helping his father-in-law on the farm, Ray was happiest when he was outdoors and busy.
Above all, Ray was an incredible husband, father, son, and friend. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved. Ray had a natural ability to bring light into any room. Many who knew him described him as truly being a “Ray of sunshine.” He never hesitated to be goofy, crack a joke, or go out of his way to lift someone’s spirits. His warmth, humour, and generous heart made people feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jenn, and their daughter, Raelynn; his parents, Barry and Lynnette Moskalyk; his brothers, Jessie, Casey (Carley), and Blain (Solana); his in-laws, Dwayne and Lois Paziuk; his brother-in-law, Ryley (Lindsey); as well as his cherished nieces and nephews, Kypton, Lux, Mia, Everly, and Lenny. Ray will also be fondly remembered by his grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the numerous close friends who became like family to him over the years. Through those friendships he gained many extra nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Ray was predeceased by his grandfathers, Henry Moskalyk and Lyle Yurko, and by his uncle, Wayne Moskalyk.
Ray’s impact on those around him was profound. He gave his whole heart, leaving a lasting mark through his kindness, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he created will live on forever.
Please join us in celebrating Ray’s life on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Sexsmith Civic Centre (9917-99 Ave). Refreshments will follow, with time to gather, connect, and share memories.
