We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Patricia Schneider

With heavy hearts, the family of Patricia Schneider of Grande Prairie, Alberta, announces her passing on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the age of 92.

Pat was born and raised in the lower mainland of British Columbia, where she met Harry Schneider, the love of her life. Following high school, Harry and Pat moved east, married, and then Harry joined the RCAF. Before being stationed in Germany, they were blessed with their daughter, Linda, and a couple years later, before returning to Canada, they welcomed their second daughter, Robin. Eventually they moved to Alberta, and after a few moves around the province, they settled in Grande Prairie in the summer of 1963, where they remained until their deaths.

Pat was a devout Christian and actively involved in church life until her mid-80s. She volunteered at the Grande Prairie QEII Hospital for 45 years and enjoyed time in her garden or visiting with friends. She travelled extensively with Harry while they owned Roblyn’s Travel from 1974 until 1991.

Pat will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Linda Bombak; her daughter, Robin Bennett; son-in-law John Bennett; grandson Father Michael Bombak (Kim); five great-grandchildren (Tobias, Miriam, Georgia, Philomena, and Ignatius); granddaughter Dr. Andrea Bombak; as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members, and many dear friends.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Harry (2007); her nephew, Don Lindsay (2017); her youngest sister, Fernne Brunet (2023); along with the rest of her siblings, other family members, and many good friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff from the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, Mackenzie Place, and Wild Rose Manor for taking such wonderful care of our mother over the past number of years.

At Pat’s request, there will not be a funeral.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation of your choice.
