We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Patricia May Dingeldein (née Claydon)
Patricia May Dingeldein (née Claydon), resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 72, with her son and daughter by her side. Music played, and while we were heartbroken watching our mom leave, there was so much love and laughter in the room.
Pat was born in Fairview and raised on a farm in Eureka River, later moving to Fairview in Grade 12. Following graduation, Pat participated in a youth exchange program and spent four months in Malaysia, a trip she often recalled fondly. Upon her return from Malaysia, Pat moved to Edmonton, where she built a successful career with AGT. An opportunity to work in Grande Prairie as a manager with AGT presented itself and Pat took it. This move led to meeting her loving husband, Chris.
Pat always knew she wanted to be a mother and after she married Chris, her long journey to motherhood began. Pat was an avid gardener, she loved to nurture, and she loved nature. Her home was full of plants, exotic fish and her favorite companion, a little silky terrier named Wilbur, as well as many other dogs, cats, horses and guinea pigs she could never say no to.
Pat was a stay-at-home mom and as her kids gained independence, Pat built a new career for herself with H&R Block, where she worked for 20 years, first as a tax consultant and later as a manager. She was well liked by her team and very much enjoyed the hustle and bustle of tax season.
Pat will be deeply missed by her husband, Chris Dingeldein; her children, Nancy Dingeldein and Robert Dingeldein (Genelle); and her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Nathan, Hayden, Mia, Isaac and Wyatt. She also leaves her sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Ken, and Darlene and Neil; her brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Dawn; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Darla, Lyall and Angela, Larry, and Louie; along with many nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved brother, George; her dad, Cecil; her mom, Ann; her mother-in-law, Marge; her father-in-law, Bill; and her sister-in-law, Susan.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00pm at the Emerson Trail Cemetery in Sexsmith, Alberta, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). After the Celebration, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon in Oliver’s Tea Room.
Memorial donations may be made to Mackenzie Place Foundation (https://gphospitalfoundation.ca/donate/ or 11205 110 St, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 4B1).
