We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Overton (Oddie) Edward Peddie
In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Overton Edward Peddie on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 55.
Born in Haileybury, Ontario, in 1971, Oddie grew up surrounded by a close-knit community of many siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In 1998, he moved his young family to Alberta to embrace a new career and embark on a wonderful new adventure.
Oddie cherished spending time with family and friends at their camper. It was there, after more than 30 years of building a beautiful life together, that he married his true love, Jennifer Ollevier, in 2025. Together, they raised their two daughters, Samantha and Alexandra, who were his absolute pride and joy.
Known for his infectious sense of humor, Oddie never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh or offer calm, wise advice. He truly lit up every room he walked into, and you couldn't help but smile whenever you heard his laughter. Oddie had a rare gift for connection—no one met him without calling him a good friend by the end of the day. He was also a deeply loved member of his wife’s family, who grieves the loss of an amazing soul.
Oddie is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Ollevier; his treasured daughters, Samantha and Alexandra; his father, Garfield Peddie; his siblings, Gary (and Cassie), Curtis, and Catherine; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvette (Godin) Peddie, and his sister, Trudy Peddie.
A celebration of Oddie’s life will be held in the spring of 2027.

What a loss. Incredibly gone to soon. Oddie held a special place in my Ontario momma's heart as Oddie and Jen took our boys in when they decided to move to Alberta. They became part of their family life. Becoming their Alberta dad and Alberta grandpa to my grandkids. I knew the kids always had someone to call and now they will help Jen and the girls get through this incredible hard journey! We will always have his contagious laugh and calm presence with us. Until we meet again Oddie.

Sending much love to my Aunt Jen and her girls. My uncle will be truly missed by all. He had a great sense of humour, and great stories. I will always remember him calling me Hannie Bananie
