Obituary For Oliver "Bruce" Little

Bruce Little was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on September 20, 1959, to Joan and Laurie Little. He went to elementary school and junior high at Montrose and graduated from the Composite High School in 1977. Bruce married his high school sweetheart, Cathy Watts, in 1980. They welcomed their first son, David, in 1982. Together, they started a local electronic store called Echo Sound (now Echo Audio Video Unlimited) in 1983. In 1985, they welcomed their second son, Shawn. The boys were a very important part of Bruce’s life.

In 2018, after selling the store to his son, David, and Jeff Yawney, Bruce transitioned into a career in real estate with RE/MAX. His daughter-in-law Viktoriia joined him in early 2023. Bruce continued working in real estate until his double lung transplant in July 2024.

Bruce was very involved in his community. He joined Rotary and was president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was also president of the Grande Prairie Storm Junior A hockey team. Bruce and Cathy billeted many Storm hockey players throughout the years. This led to many lifelong friendships.

Bruce loved spending time out at their cabin at Sturgeon Lake. He loved boating, fishing, playing cards and crib. Bruce had a great sense of humor and was known for his pranks and practical jokes. He loved interacting with people and left an impact on many people’s lives. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Bruce is survived by his wife Cathy (Watts); children David (TJ) and Shawn (Viktoriia); grandchildren Ben, Sage, Milena and Liam; mother-in-law Florence Watts; sister Joanne (Vern); sister-in-law Kim (Van); brother-in-law Clint (Dawn); sister-in-law Maryanne, as well as nieces and nephews.

Bruce was predeceased by his mother Joan, father Laurie, brother Don, and father-in-law Gordan Watts.

A funeral service for Bruce will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at People’s Church in Grande Prairie (11850 108 St). Following the service, interment will take place at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. A luncheon will follow afterward, back at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Alberta Lung’s Breathing Space (https://ablung.ca/give-back/donate/).

Deepest condolences to Cathy & family. I will never forget the ultimate kindness & generosity shown to my mom the day she had a trip & fall across from Swanavon. Stunned & bloody on the curb, Bruce & Cathy were the only vehicle on the busy roadway to stop & check on her, a stranger. Your care for her wellbeing that day ensured she arrived to the ED, was supported during her wait, and her best friend, Beary, was kept company in the air conditioned truck with Bruce. The immeasurable kindness and generosity of time shown that day created a special bond and new friendship that endured from then on. You hold a very special place in our hearts, Tracy & Bart Ruptash
