Obituary For Noreen Geneva Wiens

Noreen Geneva Wiens, resident of Edmonton, AB, formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Our Place, in Edmonton, at the age of 43 years.

Noreen was born on December 6, 1979, in Grande Prairie, and was placed into the Spirit River home of the Wiensā€™ at 3 weeks old. She loved playing games, Disney movies, gummy candy, frogs, fishing, the color green, camping, camouflage, and Baby Yoda. Noreen enjoyed summers at David Thompson Bible Camp and all the friends she met there.

She had a lot of struggles throughout her life, especially during the past few years. The family is so grateful for the loving support of her cousin Jackie and her friend Rick.

Noreen had a quirky sense of humour, making up her own jokes and had a memorable chuckle. Her memory was incredible, remembering everyoneā€™s phone numbers and license plates, even years later.

Noreen will be sadly missed by her parents Henry and Darlene Wiens; sister Crystal (Richard) Thompson; as well as nephews Liam and Callum Thompson.

Noreen was predeceased by her brother Leonard Wiens.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Peopleā€™s Church in Grande Prairie (11850 108 St.). Luncheon to follow.

A Livestream of the service will be accessible 15 minutes prior to the service on Noreen's obituary on Oliverā€™s Funeral Home website.

Memorial Donations may be made to Our Place by money order or cash (9537 106 Ave. NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 0N3).
