On Saturday, August 29, 2015, Nora Wiebe of Grande Prairie, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years.

Nora was born in Cold Lake, AB, and in the fall of 1945, the family moved to Saskatoon Lake. After her kids were grown up, Nora worked at Woolworth’s, Pioneer Lodge and the Prairie Mall. She was proud of her time as a Teacher’s Assistant at Canuck School near Bear Lake. Nora will be remembered for her quick wit, humor, and her independence. She gave a “Good Morning” to everyone she met.

Nora will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jim (Gloria), John (Terry), Betti (Jim), Joe, Marj and Alice. She will also be fondly remembered by her 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; her brother Tom (Shirley) webb, niece Pat (Gerald) and nephew David (Lisa); as well as by numerous extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Ralph Sims, her longtime partner Roy Speed and by her daughter Wendy.

A Celebration of Nora’s life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the Army & Navy Club in Grande Prairie (10117 93 St.) following the service.

Memorial donations may be made in loving memory of Nora to the Canadian Cancer Society (#103 9805 97 St. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 8B9).
