Obituary For Myrna Marie Colp
Myrna Marie Colp, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, was promoted to Glory on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 83 years.
Born in Grande Prairie on May 17, 1942, Myrna spent her life in service to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She volunteered in all facets of ministry: Sunday School teacher, prayer warrior, Christmas Kettles, and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Mom sang for many years with her husband, Gil, and later, with her church friends as the “Harmoneez.” Mom loved going for drives in the country and spending time in nature. She and her friend, Clarice, often spent afternoons cruising through back roads in search of ice cream or for the way home.
Myrna will be dearly missed by her children, Dwight Colp (Leah Jun) and Hollis (Brett) Irvine, and her grandson Jeramiah Colp.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gilmore; her mother and father, Roberta and Fred Maile; and her brothers, Darrel and Fred Maile.
A funeral service honoring Myrna’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grande Prairie Salvation Army (9525 83 Ave, Grande Prairie). Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at The Salvation Army. At the same time, interment will take place at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84 Ave. and 112 St.).
Memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Salvation Army (https://salvationarmy.ca/) or MS Canada (mscanada.ca/).

Driving home from Saskatchewan, I went back in time, thinking about my time with the Harmoneez Group, of which Myrna was a big part. Lots of good memories. Life's final journey leads to the grace and beauty that wait for us in heaven. Myrna touched many lives. Special memories live on with others. My deepest sympathy to you Dwight, Leah, Holly, and Jeramiah. Sincerely Judy Ure

Myrna along with her husband Gil were a big part of our lives from 1992 to 2000 when we were pastors at The Salvation Army Grande Prairie Community Church. They were neighbours, living about 2 blocks from us. To our kids she was Auntie Mryna. We as a family experienced her warm hospitality when she would invite us over for a home cooked meal. She was also a member of our congregation who helped in Sunday School, women's ministry, serving in the kitchen for many church events and as an employee in our church office for a period of time. She was, loving, compassionate and full of fun. We have fond memories of being with Myrna at church picnics, Christmas concerts and Ladies Camp. She loved her kids and her grandson Jeramiah dearly. Her service to others was rooted in her love of Jesus, her Saviour. We are thankful for her care and influence in our lives. Love, Lynn and Dave Grice

We were so saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Myrna, your Mom and Grandmother. We first met Myrna and Gil when we were just starting out as new parents back in the 1980"s. The Coips and the Scotts surrounded us with love, friendship and much needed support and advice which has continued throughout the years. We have so many fun filled memories of our time together. Myrna taught all of our kids in Sunday school and we always loved to hear her sing. She lived her life and demonstrated her faith every day of her life, in good times and hard times and was an inspiration for our whole family. Myrna was one of a kind and will really be missed .We were so fortunate to have her in our lives. May she continue to be an inspiration to all of you as your treasure her memory. Love Betty and Barry Robinson
