Obituary For Myles Leach
Born in Kindersley, SK, on August 11, 1969, Myles lived a life full of heart, adventures, and good stories.
He was a cherished Grandpa to Tinley and a devoted father to Montana, Dayton, and Jayden. Myles is survived by his children—Montana, Dayton, and Jayden—his granddaughter Tinley, his sister Ledena, and his mother Irene.
He was predeceased by his father, Harold Leach.
Myles spent many years working in the oilfield, and in his early days, he put in countless hours on the road trucking—hauling cars, oil, cattle, and even the occasional trailer or two of chuckwagon horses for his dear friend Jerry Bremner.
He had a lifelong need for speed, spending many weekends at the racetrack. He was a familiar face at the Hythe Motor Speedway, not just racing, but lending a hand wherever needed—including as a Flag Man on race day.
Myles also had a love for farming—whether he was behind the wheel of a tractor or helping out as the chute boss at the Rafter KL Arena. When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with his kids or getting into harmless mischief with his friends. He made it a priority to show up for his children—at barrel races with Montana, rodeos with Dayton, or volleyball games with Jayden.
He proudly chauffeured Dayton to rodeos all over Alberta, and in turn, the Rodeo family stood by Myles and his family in their time of need—something they’ll never forget.
Myles’s love of fast cars and his Harley was no secret. But more than anything, he took pride in his kids and his granddaughter. If you knew Myles, you knew how much they meant to him. His big grin lit up every room, and he never hesitated to lend a hand when someone needed it.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Myles—but we also remember him with love, laughter, and gratitude.
A Memorial Service for Myles will be held on June 18, 2025, at Clarkson Hall in Grande Prairie, AB, at 1:00 PM.
He will be deeply missed. We invite all who knew him to come together, share stories, and raise one final cheers in his honor

I want to take a moment to honor my long-time friend, Myles Leach. Although I can't be there in person today, my heart is with all of you as we remember a remarkable man. Myles and I met in our small town of Eckville, a close-knit community where everyone knows each other, and the tales of our adventures often became the talk of the post office. I cherish the memories of late nights spent cruising the back roads and doing main street loser laps until the early morning hours. I can still hear the laughter we shared. One of my fondest memories is of our mischievous Sunday nights, when we would put Myles's dad Harold's car on jack stands and run the transmission in reverse. Harold had limited Myles to 100 kilometers a weekend, but Myles somehow managed to hit that limit by Friday evening at the gas station where I worked. He always had a knack for convincing me to swap out the tires—putting old ones on for the weekend and then switching back to the good ones on Sunday night. Myles was a man who chased his goals with unwavering determination, and despite our busy lives, he always made time to chat and offer a helping hand. As an employee at Xtreme Hot Oil and Pressure and X-site Energy Services, Myles was known for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence. He was someone you could always rely on, giving his all during early mornings and late nights, and he never missed a deadline. He was also a man of strong convictions, never afraid to speak his mind—right or wrong, Myles would tell you what he thought, and he would likely tell you again! The world needs more people like him, who provided for their families at any cost and would protect them to the ends of the earth. Myles leaves behind a legacy that will continue through his children, who will carry the life lessons he taught them. He was proud of his coalition of truck drivers and swampers, all working together on specialized equipment to get the job done right. Myles, thank you for the laughter, the friendship, and the countless memories. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you.

As cousins, even though we lived far apart, Myles and I kept in touch regularly. Whenever we had a chance to hook up in person, we certainly did. He came to town with the rodeo quite often, I would pick him up in my hot rod - we would have a meal, burn some rubber and have some laughs. He wore a cowboy hat as well as anyone. Rest in peace cuz.
