We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Moses Hofer

Moses Hofer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with his family by his side. His battle with cancer was very brief, taking him much too soon. Our hearts are broken, but we are grateful we had the opportunity to say goodbye.

His beloved wife, Marlene, and his children were very close to his heart. He got excited over each new grandchild that came along, and we are sure he is now enjoying the company of the two little ones we never had the privilege to raise here on earth.

Moses treasured togetherness with family and friends. He made sure no one who came to visit ever left hungry, and every child received a treat, of course. His sense of humour was enjoyed by many. He had a way of bringing lightheartedness into ordinary, everyday moments.

Moses worked as a millwright and enjoyed the challenge of working with steel. He appreciated work that required precision and finding creative ways to solve problems. He was known for his love of fishing, and his ever-growing rock collection became a source of many smiles and lighthearted teasing over the years.

The Lord blessed Moses with the gift of patience. He seemed to never run out of it and always had room for one more parcel when going down south. He always taught us that a deed done for your neighbour is a deed done unto the Lord.

Dad, your memory will live on in our hearts forever. We are comforted knowing you are safe in the arms of Jesus. You have gone to a place where the fish will always bite, and peace never ends. Rest easy until we meet again.

We would like to say a special thank you to all who were involved in Moses’ care and for all the prayers that were sent heavenward on his behalf.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Grandview Hutterian Church (723042a Range Rd. 74, Grande Prairie, AB).
