We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Michael Louis Morris Laurin

Michael Laurin, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital at the age of 53 years.

On April 10, 1973, Michael was born at the Grande Prairie Hospital. He completed his schooling here in Grande Prairie and proceeded straight into the seat of a Mack truck. Later, he switched to driving Kenworths, which were his favourite. Outside of work, he loved spending time with his family, as well as going camping, quadding, and skidooing.

Michael was an incredibly strong, kindhearted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He had more dad jokes than you could imagine. Even during his sudden and unexpected struggle with cancer, he kept all of us in stitches.

Michael will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; his devoted parents, Ray and Dianne Laurin; his daughter, Jessica (Ryan) and their daughter, Emerson; his daughter, Natasha (Brendan); stepdaughter Sara (Haden) and their children, Waylon, Blakely, and Charli; stepdaughter Jordanna (Kaiden); brother Daniell (Joanne) and their children, Mathew (Tristan) and Leanne (Noah); brother Neil and his children, Katelynn and Sophia; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Louis and Theresa Laurin; his maternal grandparents, Morris and Margaret Eady; and his uncle, Roy Eady; as well as his great-grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clarkson Hall in Evergreen Park (55051 Township Rd 710, Grande Prairie, AB, T8W 5A7). Luncheon will begin immediately following the service, while interment takes place at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84 Ave and 112 St).

In honour of Michael, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Forever in our hearts.
