We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For McCoy Stetson Stewart

It is with unimaginable sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful boy, McCoy Stetson Stewart, of Teepee Creek. He passed away on October 11, 2026, in Grande Prairie, at just five years old.

Though McCoy’s time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and happiness he brought into our lives could fill a lifetime.

McCoy was, by far, the sweetest little boy. His smile could light up any room, and his kindness brought instant joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was compassionate, loving, and incredibly observant. Even at only five years old, McCoy noticed the little things that adults so often missed. He cared deeply about the people around him and had a way of making everyone feel loved.

McCoy found his greatest joy in the things that moved. He loved John Deere, big trucks, tractors, trailers, animals, and just about anything with a motor. He had already mastered the art of “foreman,” whether someone was backing up a trailer or working on a job. McCoy was always there to tell you exactly what you should be doing and to make sure you were doing it right.

His sense of humour was truly one of a kind. He could make people laugh without even trying. The second McCoy walked into a room, things somehow felt brighter. His smile made people instantly happy, and when McCoy was around, there was always a reason to smile.

He loved to dance and sing. Somehow, at five years old, McCoy knew the words to more songs than Mom and Dad combined. His voice, his dancing, his laughter, and all the little things that made him uniquely McCoy will be treasured forever.

McCoy will be deeply and forever missed by his parents, Andrew and Leigha; his big brother, Rhody; Mama Gina and Papa Joe; Uncle Colton; Auntie Raine; Yardley; Syver; Saylor; Ole; Uncle Tyson; Auntie Karen; Uncle Tim; Aunty Jane (Len); Uncle Travis; Great-Grandma Kay; Great-Grandma Alice; Verna (Geoff); Lynelle (Chris); Kevin (Chris); Jamie; Megan; Kinzlee; Maddi; and his many other family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.

He was predeceased by Great-Grandpa Earl; Great-Grandma Kathy; Great-Grandpa Barney; and Great-Grandpa Alvin.

There are no words strong enough to express the loss of a child like McCoy, but there are also no words strong enough for the love he gave us in his five beautiful years.

We will remember the little boy with the enormous smile. The boy who loved trucks and tractors, who sang every song, who made us laugh, who noticed everything, and who loved with his whole heart.

McCoy brought more joy into five years than some people bring into a lifetime. We will carry his smile, his laughter, and his love with us everywhere we go.

The memorial service for McCoy will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bezanson Community Church (9801-103 St, Bezanson, Alberta). A private family interment will take place beforehand.

For those who cannot attend in person, the service will be livestreamed. The link will be available shortly before the service begins.

Forever five. Forever loved. Forever our McCoy.
