Obituary For Max Pfau

Maximilian “Max” Pfau, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Goodfare, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at MacKenzie Place, at the age of 94 years.

Max was born in Poland, and arrived in Canada as an infant at the age of One. The family settled in the Goodfare District where they homesteaded. Max attended Steeprock School and worked on the farm with his parents. Later, he was employed in road construction on the Hart Highway in British Columbia for several years. He also worked seasonally with Northern Alberta Railway and Alberta Transportation.

Max was a kind, quiet, unassuming man, who could get along well with people.

He was interested in big game and bird hunting, loved fishing in Iosegun Lake and Kelly Lake, and visiting museums and rodeos.

Max will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, as well as his friends.

Max was predeceased by his father Julius Pfau; mother Berta Pfau; sisters Olga Thomson and Elsie Morrison; brother Walter as an infant of 2 years; as well as partner and companion Margaret Cardeno.

A Viewing was held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Oliver’s Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 1:00pm, at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment followed at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.

    I'm so sorry to see that Max has passed away. I was a Comfort care aide At McKenzie Place. He was a kind person. I enjoy getting to know him. Carolyn Campbell
