Obituary For Martin Joseph Brebrich

Martin Brebrich, resident of Bezanson, AB, formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 19, 2022, at the age of 57 years, and is now in the hands of God.

Martin was born in Fairview, AB, where he grew up in and around the area. He lived in Yellowknife for a while and went to school in Spirit River, AB. He started out farming and became a heavy-duty mechanic working in and around Grande Prairie. He continually challenged himself, learning and mastering numerous trades and skills.

He loved the outdoors, camping with family and loved ones. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and the simple things in life with his black tie hidden in the very back of the closet. He was a straight-forward man, generous with his time and ready to lend a hand. He was rarely bored; almost always busy which gave him a positive outlook on life.

Martin’s faith strengthened towards the end, providing him with a measure of peace as he passed. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Martin is survived by his loving wife Wendy (nee Rode) of 28 years; his children Brian (Michelle Bilodeau) and Skylar; three grandchildren Hannah, Kate, and Ryver. He is also survived by his mother Donna Seidler; father Robert Brebrich; and his grandmother Irene Seidler.

A Celebrate of Life will be held on, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Memorial Hall in Bezanson (9901 100 St.).

Those who knew Martin, knew he was a simple man and didn’t like a fuss. So, we are going to honour that. Join us for an informal family picnic-type gathering – full of kids playing, people talking, and time spent remembering a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend.

Coffee, tea, water, and snack will be provided but feel free to bring a dessert or your own drinks. Consider bringing a story or photo of Martin if you can, anything is appreciated by the family. We hope to have this event both inside and outside (weather depending), so don’t forget your lawn chairs.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their continued support.

Very sad news to hear, he will be greatly missed by all he knew. It was always the best part of the day when Martin came to shop to get something and we would end up talking about just about anything and everything for a while
