Obituary For Mark Bradley Justin Petroski

Mark Petroski, resident of Horse Lake First Nation, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Horse Lake First Nation, at the age of 37 years.

Mark was born on August 30, 1985, in Grande Prairie, AB, raised in Horse Lake. He attended elementary school in Hythe, AB, and high school in Beaverlodge, AB. Mark was the Band Councillor for 8 years, and was a welder in the oil and gas industry.

Mark loved all sports - mostly hockey, slow-pitch, golf, watched UFC, and boxing. He also loved camping, hunting, quadding, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. He contributed to helping with children’s activities and coaching minor hockey. Mark was always joking and making everyone around him laugh, he was an inspiration for everyone to be their best self. He was a natural born leader, someone we all looked up to, Mark would give anyone the shirt off his back.

He had a great sense of humour. The most contagious smile that could light up any room he walked in.

Mark will be sadly missed by his spouse Shiloh Steinbring; children: Jersie, Khale, Miken, and Meara; parents Walter and Elaine Petroski; sisters Chantille (Shelby) Cheyenne; brother Walter (Marley); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and bro’s. Mark was predeceased by his grandparents: Fred and Stella Savard, and Walter and Violet Petroski; great-grandparents Nellie Ferguson, Ted and Jean Savard; brother Daniel Petroski; cousins: Shane, Vanessa, and Reggie; uncles Dion and Liggan; best friends Brad and Clark; as well as numerous other family members.

A Wake will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 6:00pm, at the Horse Lake Arena.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Horse Lake Arena.
