Obituary For Marilyn Pointkoski Olson
Marilyn Olson, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie, at the age of 58 years.
She was born in Camrose, AB on March 23, 1957. She moved to Edmonton and worked at AGT. Marilyn married Gary Olson on July 8, 1978 and moved to High River where she worked at CIBC Bank. She moved to Calgary and continued to work with CIBC and then finally moved to Grande Prairie in 1996 and worked at Alberta Health Services.
Marilyn enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking and quilting. She was well known for being organized and loved dogs.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 37 years Gary; mother Emma Pointkoski of Camrose; sister Joan (Craig) Burnett of Edgeley, SK; brothers Garry (Yvonne) Pointkoski of Camrose and Ken (Debi) Pointkoski of Winnipeg; nephews and nieces: Jason, Tara (Mark) Holowka (and their son Emmett) of Winnipeg, James, Kimberly and Kiera; as well as numerous family and friends, and special friend Sharon Barford and husband John , and Marlee Jane.
Marilyn was predeceased by her father Walter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 7:30pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107).
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 3:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.). A luncheon will be held following service at 5:00pm at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church (15502 102 St.).
A second Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00am at Weber Funeral Home in Camrose, AB (#2 Mount Pleasant Dr.). Interment will take place at the Camrose Cemetery in Camrose, AB, following the service.
