Marie Laura Leroux, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital at the age of 96 years.

Marie was born on June 4, 1930, in Howie, AB. She was raised in Whitemud, AB, and attended school in Falher, AB.

Mom and Dad owned a deli and catering business, which kept them quite busy. In her free time, Mom enjoyed dancing, socializing, and playing cards. Later in life, she would often come to our houses (Judy, Phil, and Verna) for sleepovers. We treasured our time together, doing word searches and playing cards. Mom loved her children with her whole heart.

Marie will be sadly missed by her children, Adele (Roger) Brodhagen, Judy Leroux, Verna Ritchie, Phil Leroux, Gwen (Denis) Laverdiere, and Harvey Leroux; her grandchildren, Chris and Mike Brodhagen, Daniel and Stephan Therrien, Lynn and Arthur Whitchombe, and Jessica and Corey Leroux (Sonia); her 16 great-grandchildren; and her five great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Thelma and Doris, and by both of her parents.

The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404-102 St), preceded by a viewing at 10:00 a.m. Following the mass, friends are invited to join the family for a light luncheon in Tranquille Hall at the church.
