Obituary For Marianne Collin Plamondon

Marianne Plamondon (nee Collin), passed away at Points West Living in Grande Prairie on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the age of 89 years, following a long battle with Dementia.

Marianne was born in Lake Baker, New Brunswick in 1926. The small Collin family made the trip across Canada and settled in the farming community of Donnelly, AB. Marianne never knew her fatherâ??s first wife Rose, as she passed away giving birth to her fifth child in 1923. Marianne was the eldest of 18 brothers and sisters. She went to a rural school in Donnelly for only a few years and then stayed home to help her mother Victoria, look after the family as it was continually growing. By the time she was married to Arthur in 1948 the Collin family now numbered 23 brothers and sisters.

Marianne was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1990 and her daughter Yvette in 2000.

She is survived by her sisters: Theresa of St. Paul, AB, Annette of Edmonton, AB, Claire of Edmonton, AB, Emilia of Prince George, BC, Juliette of Falher, AB, and Marie Rose of Donnelly, AB; sons Louis (Joan) of Grande Prairie and Roger (Lorna) of St. Albert; grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no service held at the request of Marianne, cremation has been entrusted to Oliverâ??s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie. A private interment will be held later this summer at the Donnelly Cemetery.
