Obituary For Margaret Wagner Purvis

Margaret Purvis

On September 7, 2015 our mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to the loving arms of the Lord. It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Purvis at the age of 92. Margaret was born in Patersbach, Germany on September 25, 1922, immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1927 and then settled in Silverwood, Alberta in 1929. Margaret married Donald Purvis in 1940 and they resided in Silverwood and Woking until 1973 when they moved to Grande Prairie.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered for her kind-heartedness, zest for life, unending energy and her enduring love for her family. Nothing meant more to her than having family around, whether it was a quick visit or Sunday dinners; she adored each of them and cherished the time spent with them.

She is survived by her daughter Delores (Reinie) Knoblauch of Grande Prairie, sons Jim (Marion) Purvis of Vernon, BC and Ken (Val) Purvis of Grande Prairie. Grandchildren: Doug (Lara) Knoblauch; Dwayne Knoblauch; Ron Purvis (Belinda Barber); Sandra (Warren) Melnick; Diane (Dave) Lejeune; Kelly Purvis.

Great-grandchildren: Asia Knoblauch (Earth Pattapong); Tyler Knoblauch; Emily Lejeune; Alex Lejeune; Abby Lejeune.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years Donald Purvis, her parents Frank and Hedwig Wagner, Sister Ruby Sanderson.

Memorial service will be held to celebrate Margaret’s life at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St Paul United Church 10206 100 Ave Grande Prairie Alberta.
