Obituary For Margaret "Peggy" Mae Lacey (nee Dennison)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Lacey, our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the age of 85 years.

Peggy was born to George and Jean Dennison in Chilliwack, BC, on June 8, 1937. Her family moved to Hythe, AB, in 1951, when she was 14. It is here that she remained until her passing at the age of 85.

Mom’s greatest love was her family. She loved us all unconditionally and was our rock. No bird or stray cat ever went hungry with her around. She watched out for those who had nothing and that others would walk past. She judged no one. Peggy was a "tell it like it is" woman, you always knew where you stood. She passed many hours reading and watching her favourite tv shows. She liked to play cards, bingo, movies and going for drives around the country.

Peggy had 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Kim Kimble (Nicole (Kevin) Farwell and Jennifer Kimble), Craig Lacey (Jesse and Olivia), Leanne (Dan) Reed (Chase and Koel), and Myles (Amanda) Lacey (Brennan and Brynley); great grandchildren Finley and Hudson Farwell, and Wyatt and Maizy Hartley. She also leaves her sister and best friend Elaine Baker, they meant the world to each other; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents George and Jean Dennison; newborn Jeanie Mae; brother in-law Ed Baker; as well as nephew Bob Baker.

In their hearts, humans plan their course but the Lord establishes their steps.

As per Peggy’s request, a private family graveside ceremony will be held at the Hythe Cemetery.

Memorial Donations in honor of Peggy may be made to the Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association (12220 104 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8A8).

Peggy Lacey was THE most amazing and strongest woman that I have ever met. She never backed down from anything or anyone. She was never afraid to tell you "like it was". She loved with her whole heart. I was blessed to have known her for 30 years. She led by example, and even though she didn't know it, she taught me to be strong. Jesse and I loved her so much. Peggy, you will always be in our hearts
