Obituary For Lionel G. Jones

June 8, 1947 - July 8, 2022

Rest in peace, knowing you were so loved by so many. As a husband, father, papa, brother, partner, and friend. Lionel is survived by his wife Mj; children: Brad (Lindsay), Brandon (Amy), Brodie (Tara), and Candace (Art); his grandchildren: Bryndal, Torren, Brogan Jones, Andra, Mason, and Aliese Stirrett; brothers El, Byron, Keith, Nelson, and Garth; sister Shirley; as well as extended family.

Lionel was predeceased by parents Ben and Marion; as well as the twins Murray and Marilyn.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:30pm, at People’s Church in Grande Prairie (11850 108 Street, 780-539-0572).

In Lionel’s honour, Memorial Donations may be made to Local Rotary Youth Exchange Program (Memo: Swan City Rotary- In Memory of Lionel Jones (Suite 312, #3, 9899-112 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7T2)). It may also be left with the family, or e-transfers can be sent to the following address to be forwarded: lionel@canadianahomes.com.

    Our heartfelt sympathy to Marlene and family and the Jones family. Pat and I found out today from my cousin Linda about Lionel's passing. We met Lionel and Marlene in Ixtapa.     So saddened to hear this. So many wonderful memories of the two of you and your family. Very sad we didn't catch up while you were both in Victoria. The example of great people. Loved the evening we shared playing music and having all your friends dancing on your tennis court in GP. My heart goes out to MJ and all the family. Lionel was a gem. Darryl Olsen.
