Obituary For Lawrence Harry Holinaty

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lawrence Holinaty on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Grande Prairie Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB.

Lawrence was born in Porcupine, SK, on November 26, 1956, to Mike and Marion Holinaty. He was the youngest of seven children.

When Lawrence completed school, he moved to DeBolt, AB, and Valleyview, AB, and worked with his brothers, Dave and Albert. After a few years, he began working at Hi-Line Distributors in Valleyview. He worked there for 30 years until he began to have health issues.

Lawrence’s health began to decline 2.5 years ago, and he spent 8 months in the Valleyview Hospital and was then transferred to the Grande Prairie Care Centre. I’d like to thank the staff for their care throughout that time.

Over the past few years, Lawrence had met so many incredible people that he had become fast friends with. When visiting Lawrence at the Care Centre, he would tell us about the people he had met and introduce us. So many special memories.

Lawrence is survived by his brother, Dave, sister Elizabeth Jones (Wayne), and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Marion, brothers Edward, Albert, and Melvin, nephew Donny, and sister-in-law Joan Holinaty.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Valleyview Memorial Hall (4808 50 St.) in Valleyview.

Condolences

  • August 16, 2025

Sdaness fills my heart when someone passes early before his time especially when having to live with threatening health issues. Sadly Lawrence will be missed, he was always fun to be around, he always had a positive outlook on everything, never too excited but was not shy to share an opinion. My sincerest condolences to Lawrence's family and friends who grieve his loss. May he have eternal peace in the Kingdom of Heaven.
