Obituary For Larry James Jobson

Larry James Jobson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the age of 69 years.

Larry was born in Grande Prairie on July 26, 1952, and raised near Bezanson, AB. In High Prairie, AB, he met and married his sweetheart, Evangeline.

He worked on the rigs before becoming a mechanic and loader operator in High Prairie. Following a move to Grande Prairie, Larry was an entrepreneur in the trucking and oilfield industry, which involved owning many businesses in the Grande Prairie and Leduc area. His final drive was piloting for Mark’s Hauling Ltd just days before cancer unexpectedly took his life, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting. He also enjoyed learning the art of cutting, processing, preserving, and smoking various types of meats.

Larry is survived by his wife Evangeline; son Steven (Heather); daughter Serena; grandson Mike; granddaughter Sidney; brother David (Ruth); sisters Shirley (Albert) and Gwen; one uncle and aunt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry was predeceased by his father Julian; mother Mildred; twin brothers Mervin and Melvin; his wife Shirley; as well as grand-nephew Bishop.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Livestream of the service will be accessible 15 minutes prior to the service on Larry’s obituary on Oliver’s Funeral Home website.
