Kirk Douglas Walker-Goodswimmer suddenly passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Grande Prairie, AB.

He was born on September 17, 2002, in Valleyview, AB, to parents Erin L. Walker (Mitchell) and Ferlyn D.B. Goodswimmer. Kirk grew up in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, then moved to Grande Prairie, where he lived as a young adult.

Kirk was his own unique person and not afraid of being himself. He was energetic, humorous, and full of kindness and love for everyone in his life.

Kirk is survived by his parents, aunties, uncles, and many other family members from both sides.

He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Louise Goodswimmer and Denise Mitchell.

The wake will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Community Hall. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sturgeon Lake Cemetery, and after this, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon back at the hall.
