We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Kenneth William Goy

Kenneth was born in Manchester, England, on March 9, 1972. He emigrated to Canada with his parents and three siblings in August 1975, and grew up in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Grande Prairie at the age of 54.

Kenneth enjoyed life and enjoyed people. In his youth, he was an active participant in Special Olympics and PARDS (Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society). As an adult he enjoyed several part-time jobs, but his favourite was working at the Bottle Depot. Kenneth thrived on being part of a community and having conversations with friends. His positive attitude, easy-going nature, and non-judgmental manner made him an excellent listener and a wonderful person. He could always see the positive side of any situation. He also loved to watch sports and game shows on TV.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Freda, and his sister-in-law, Gina.

He leaves behind his siblings, Michael (Darlene), Hazel (Blair), and Edward, and was an uncle to Em, Benjamin, and Gillian, who will miss him greatly. He will also be missed by his relatives in England.

The family thanks the staff at Prairie Lake for the ongoing support and care of Kenneth for many years, as well as the staff at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Memorial donations can be made to PARDS (Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society) by visiting www.pards.ca.

Condolences

  • July 14, 2026

My condolences to the Goy Family and Friends - I have fond memories of Jack and Kenneth coming out to watch our soccer matches at the Rec-Plex fields in Grande Prairie years ago. Kenneth was always up for a kick about with the ball afterwards. Jack and Freda were good friends with my mum and dad - I always enjoyed their visits as a kid. Rest easy Kenneth.
