Condolences

I just learned the news of Dean's passing 8 months after the fact but want to extend my deepest condolences to Joanne, Dean's parents and the rest of his family and loved ones. Dean was truly one of a kind with an intelligent sense of humour and an undeniably enviable head of hair. I have a particularly fond memory of him when my son and I dropped by to say hi on halloween while trick or treating. My boy was very young at the time and this was his first time meeting Dean. My son had a deep appreciation/obsession for all things car related and Dean noticed him ogling some Collector cars he had on display and welcomed us in and showed my son his collection of model cars. The two of them talked about cars exchanging information with one another for a very long time and our visit probably ended up being nearly an hour. It ended with Dean giving my son a couple of his cars along with a bunch of halloween candy. It is a sweet memory of Dean that I will always hold dear where he took the time to appreciate a small child and his interests and make him feel important. My son still has those cars to this day and I'm grateful he had the opportunity to meet Dean and have that exchange. My heart truly goes out to his loved ones. He will be dearly missed. Stephanie

Joanne, We are shocked to here this devastating news. Our thoughts are with you and all who new this magnificent man. Many fond memories of our time together with you both. One of my fondest memory was getting him in the Hornet (CF-18) simulator, he just had a blast and didn't want to get out. I am sure no one else has ever flown the simulator that long and he was exhausted when we finally got him out. Fly high my friend! Dan & Liz Smith

Omg Dean was my best friend in Beaverlodge when I moved there in grade one. We walked to and from school together every day. When we reconnected in high school it was as if no time had passed. Bless you Dean. You will be missed. ❤️
