Obituary For Kells Everett Sheehan
Kells Everett Sheehan, a lifelong resident of the Grande Prairie area, passed away peacefully at his “ranch” on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the age of 73.
Kells grew up on the family farm on the south side of Clairmont Lake, which was bought by his parents Beth and Everett in 1943. Kells lived and worked on the family farm, raising purebred Hereford cattle and various grain crops, until it was sold in 2005. He was happiest out in the country and in 2008 bought “the ranch” south of Grande Prairie where he had the space to happily pursue a multitude of creative projects.
Kells believed in lending a helping hand and would go out of his way to assist others and support friends. He couldn’t go anywhere without running into a friend or striking up a friendly debate with someone new. He enjoyed live music and being in nature, whether walking, paddling, or skidooing. He was accomplished in Tai Chi, embracing spontaneity and “going with the flow.” He most enjoyed a visit with family or friends, a game of crib (skunking almost everyone) and a good project or engineering problem to solve.
Kells was predeceased by his parents Frances Elizabeth (Beth) Sheehan (Flint) and Everett Axel Sheehan. He is survived by his daughters Jessica (Michael) Armstrong and Deirdre (Martin) Sheehan, stepson Adrian (Alex) Dobrowolski, and grandchildren Jack (Ray) & Bryn Armstrong, Charlotte, George & Norah Mix, and Caspian Dobrowolski.
Kells will be sadly missed by his family, including his cousins with whom he was close, and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be directed to the CKUA Radio Foundation. donors@ckua.com.
