Obituary For Julian George Wysocki

Julian Wysocki a resident of Grande Prairie, AB passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at his home, at the age of 74 years.

Julian, or George, as he was known to many, was born October 16, 1949 and spent his early years in Noranda (now known as Rouyn-Noranda) QC. He attended A.D. Carmichael Public School and Noranda High School. He was very active in sports, playing football for Noranda High School Blue Bombers and spending his summers as a lifeguard at the Noranda outdoor pool.

Julian enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle whenever he could. He also loved his pets.

He was never without a job. Working in the mines, at CN Rail, cooking at various work lodges across Canada, in the hospitals and doing maintenance. Most recently, in service of the residents of Grande Prairie as a taxi driver.

Julian was a gentle bear of a man. He enjoyed reading a book and the feel of turning pages. He would look forward to the latest edition of his National Geographic Magazine, especially if the stories related to the ocean. He lived his life according to his rules and lived it to the fullest. He was always looking for something to fix, enjoyed watching movies, researching coins, stamps, and of course, his cat Harley.

Julian will be sadly missed by his siblings: Raja Wysocki, Tamara (William) Gamble and Anita Craig; many nieces and nephews; Grande Prairie friends: Throness family, Cora Jantz and John Perkins; the drivers at Dial A Cab; as well as fellow members of the Royal Canadian Legion in Grande Prairie, AB.

Julian was predeceased by his father Heinrich Wysocki (1987) and his mother Valentine Mikal Wysocki (2012).

As Julian requested, there will be a private Celebration of Life.

Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion (9912 101 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 0X8).
