We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Judy Ann DeVoogdt

Born in a small town in Ontario, Judy brought her energy, warmth, and love of music west to Grande Prairie, Alberta. A gifted musician who even performed for the Queen of England, she shared her joy through accordion, guitar, and bass. Her home was always filled with the sounds of country music.

Judy was sweet, positive, and a bright light to everyone who knew her. She shared a devoted partnership with Hervy Cadrin, and we like to imagine them singing and celebrating together once more.

She was treasured by her extended family and especially by Maria, her devoted friend. She was also loved dearly by her caregivers, Obed and Adwoa, who supported her with kindness and compassion.

Judy is survived by her sisters, Barb (and partner Darrell Bauer), Sharon Fabian, and Darlene Svenningsen, and her brother, Philip DeVoogdt.

Judy passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her music and spirit.
